Respite care at Jindalee
Jindalee specialises in providing respite accommodation for those that require a short term stay.
Private and shared rooms are available for respite residents- subject to availability
There are a number of reasons why someone may choose to enter an aged care home as a respite resident. In our experience, there are 3 main reasons:
- To give a carer a well-earned break
- To recover from an injury or illness for a short period of time
- To experience the care and services of an aged care home before becoming a permanent resident
Up to 63 days of respite each financial year is available once residents are approved by the Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT). There is also a further 21 days of respite that can be approved by ACAT for those needing an extension.
