Kate ChewFacility Manager
Kate has been in Aged Care 25 years in roles which included the administration and management of a large aged care home and retirement village on the Mid North Coast.
With a keen interest in accreditation standards, Kate completed the ACSAA Assessors course, and took on the incorporated roles of: OH&S and CQI Coordinator, Learning and Development Officer, Project Manager for iCare Clinical Software, Management role of Operations and Self Care Manager of a retirement village.
Kate's favourite achievements were the creation of a fully volunteer-run Village Op Shop to raise funds for village residents and, facilitating the social events and activities for residents.
Prior to coming to Jindalee, in 2018, Kate managed Weeroona Aged Care Residence-Cowra NSW, one of the Johnson owned Facility’s, servicing the community in the Lachlan Valle. Before that, a large aged care and retirement village with 400 residents on the Mid North Coast.
In 2016, Kate and Husband Rob, decided to leave Port Macquarie, buy a caravan and travel throughout Australia. This was goodbye to Port Macquarie and hello Cowra (Rob's hometown he left 40 years ago). Now Kate has made Jindalee her new 'work home' and the people of Jindalee are an extended family.
Kate says "I want to enrich people's lives, give them a sense of purpose throughout their elderly years. I also want to help the staff do the best they can to achieve this goal. It's my passion."
